Below is a catalog of the current courses offered by TAPS. Please note that not all courses have an upcoming training scheduled.
First Aid/CPR Instructor Transition – CA POST 1179-21799
This course meets the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED Title 22, Section 100023, requirements, established April 1, 2015. This course provides current First Aid/CPR instructors with the required skills to instruct the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED course.
Length and Cost: 8-hour course prepares graduates to teach the POST First Aid/CPR/AED Update course.
All classes are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. POST Reimbursement Plan IV; POST-approved, non-reimbursable fee: $226

First Aid/CPR/AED Refresher – CA POST 1179-21797
This course updates and advances all prior first aid/CPR training. This course meets the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED Title 22, Section 100023 requirements established April 1, 2015.
Length and Cost: 8-hour course raises the student’s emergency medical response standards up to the new EMSA Title 22 requirements which focus on mass-casualty attacks and appropriate response.
All classes are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. POST-approved, Plan IV, non-reimbursable fee: $175

Skills Verification: TAPS can also provide first responder skills verification for those agencies choosing to use the POST Learning Portal to provide the cognitive portion of the training to their students. CP21 (Community Policing in the 21st Century to Reduce Conflict):
Training for Trainers
This course will effectively prepare trainers to provide their agency and community participants with trusted information delivered by an educational system designed to reduce violence between peace officers and the community.

Crisis Intervention Behavioral Health, Instructor POST-Certified (Plan IV)
This instructor development course (1239-20764) is designed to enhance law enforcement response to persons with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance use disorder. Graduating agency trainers will be prepared to return and teach at their agency.
